Web site: www.english-speakingunion.org/index.htm
The Richmond Branch of the English-Speaking Union will award a scholarship to a Virginia undergraduate student for summer study at the University of Oxford, the International Shakespeare Globe Centre in London, or the Scottish Universities International Summer School in Edinburgh. The student must be a current junior and a resident of Virginia. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance, scholarly or extracurricular accomplishments and quality of character. The award winner chooses the British University and the intended course of study, but the applicant should indicate a preference for the kind of study. The award covers the cost of three weeks of study at the selected university and a travel allowance.
